Spring Makeup Trends for 2017

Spring is just around the corner, so it’s time to put away the heavy makeup and start thinking about the new season coming up. This Spring is less about contouring and on point flicks, and more about easy to create looks, that you can do as you are running out the door.

I can’t wait for the warmer weather, so that I can start breaking out more of the colours – you’ll find me in lots of pinks, oranges and blues. Think a blue liner, with light dewy foundation and a gorgeous pink blush.

If you have the right skin tone (which unfortunately isn’t me) an orange-red or tangerine lip is going to be hot for Spring and Summer. Paired with low key eyeshadow, and a delicate wing it’ll be a perfect look for the warmer weather. Or try a red lip with understated eyes and dewy skin.

Eye shimmers are going to be on trend this season – try 3ina’s metallic cream eyeshadows (available in store or online for $13.95

Some of my favourite looks have been when I’ve used products in different ways. Eyeshadow as highlighter. Lipstick as blush. For a gorgeous one colour look try using your bronzer or blush as a soft wash of colour on your eyelids, as well as on your cheeks. Try Iridis cosmetics blusher in Echo, which is a matte pink with plum undertones for a look to suit all skin tones. If you want a bit more pop layer a gold undertone highlighter on the high points of your face.

Let’s not forget about hair. Loose waves, surf grunge and blowouts are going to be front and centre, with messy braids and ponytails making an appearance. My salt spray is going to get a workout this season – my pick is the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray (available from Mecca).

If we look to the runway for inspiration high ponytails will be a hit – just remember to wrap some hair around the base to keep it looking fresh.

Are you going to rock the coloured eyeliner look? Or maybe the eye shimmer? Leave a comment and let me know
